Residue is a collection of the recent works of Heide Trepanier, an adjunct professor at VCU. She has had her art displayed in the VMFA, The Speed Museum, and many other museums, and has received many awards like the Theresa Pollak Fine Art Award (2004). This exhibit features paintings and c-prints.

Building on the complex history of public monuments in Richmond, the Valentine Museum has curated an exhibition on their context and relevance. The museum is a space for discussion about the uncomfortable elements of the past and looks at who and what has been commemorated in Richmond, from when Christopher Newport first planted a cross to the present day statues on Monument Avenue.
