Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden
March 29 - September 30 Requires Membership or ticket Featuring: Chicho Lorenzo, Mickael Broth, Keith M. Ramsey, Matthew Leavell, Nico Cathcart, and J-P. Müller The coming spring-and-summer exhibition of Richmond’s Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden promises to celebrate creativity and play. Children and adults will be able to interact with whimsical installations throughout the gardens. Thursday, March 28 from 5-7:30 PM is the member’s preview event and will include artist interviews and a full tour of the six new sculptures created by Virginia artists.

Patrick Berran presents a group of acrylic paintings on panel as well as works on paper. He uses ‘screens’ of vivid colors and patterns and principles of space and texture to create a new world for his viewers and inspire them. The artist lives and works in New York, New York, but received his B.A. from VCU and his MFA from Hunter College in New York. He has had solo and group shows in New York, and can now be seen at the Reynolds Gallery until April 5th.

December 15 12:30-5 PM The annual Monster Drawing Rally is a 1708 event in which local artists draw to help raise funds. Every hour, there are more than 20 artists drawing at once. After finishing their drawings, artists hang their pieces up on a wall to be purchased by viewers. The purchases are donations to the gallery. This year, artists included Nicholas Candela, Jessica Sims, Kendra Wadsworth, Katie Baines, Hamilton Glass, and Diego Sanchez. |
